Click Frenzy
Architected and delivered a scalable, cloud-native platform
Within the Click Frenzy business, there are two unusual problems that require innovative technical solutions:
- During events, the traffic grows from nothing to over 100,000 concurrent users, in a matter of seconds
- 3rd party retailers enter their own content through the backend, both before and during each event
Within Australia, the scale of this traffic spike is matched only by companies such as Ticketmaster and Ticketek when they release tickets to hugely popular events.
I was engaged with Click Frenzy from initial planning, through implementation to the final delivery and launch of their new platform.
My role was to architect and plan the solution and the delivery project, then build a team and ultimately deliver the platform, and run their first event.
The approach I took, to deliver this work, was:
- Engage with stakeholders throughout the business to understand their pain points, and the overall business needs
- Develop a solution architecture utilising best-in-class cloud technologies, which solves the problems I uncover
- Report back to the stakeholder group the proposed solution, and how it solves each of their business problems
- Implement feedback from the stakeholder group presentation session
- Prepare a high level estimate for the implementation.
- Build a team to deliver this platform, using existing resources, as well as hiring for new roles
- Manage the team and scope throughout the delivery
